Nuvolt Corporation Inc. intends to become a leader in the field of monitoring solutions and leakage current neutralization equipment. The technological evolution of the last few years has been motivated by a twofold need to make a technological transfer of Nuvolt’s expertise into ready-to-use products in order to give the company access to distribution networks organized in North America and to accelerate the penetration of markets of the agricultural sector. Efforts will then focus on Europe and Asia to enable Nuvolt to diversify its markets.

Nuvolt is channeling its efforts to develop the agricultural market through its subsidiary Agrivolt Inc., which is located in Kansas City, Mo. In our opinion, despite the global decline in the number of livestock farms, the need to control electric current in the animal environment will continue to grow following the major increases in electrical loads related to the accelerated automation of farms. In conjunction with this factor, electrical utilities are relying more and more on ground/neutral networks for the transmission of energy, which adds to the flow of current in the ground and multiplies the quantity of current in the animal environment. because of the rapid rise in the number and types of equipment used on farms, careful monitoring is required to avoid production downtime and equipment failures. It is important to understand that the environment of a farm is particularly hard on an electrical network. The presence of ammonia gas, extreme humidity and electrical codes which are more flexible than in the case of industries, help to explain this situation.

For the development of its industrial and commercial sector, Nuvolt intends to enter into distribution agreements with recognized experts in various sectors and sign OEMs with others. The company also believes that agreements under license will be signed in the case of industrial production lines. The endorsement of our SmartScan system by major insurers and reinsurers is part of our company’s strategy.

For the future, Nuvolt sees a world growth potential in the development of tailored products based on the SmartScan technology. Heavy industry sectors, refineries and airplane manufacturers among the clients targeted. Moreover, special applications to control energy offer an obvious potential.

>Mission

The mission of Nuvolt Corporation Inc. is to design and market systems to monitor and correct electrical failures. Its products notably help to increase the performance of livestock herds, to lower energy and preventive maintenance costs, and to reduce losses in the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors.

>History

Michel Montreuil, a current partner in the company and Vice President, Technology, founded Nuvolt Corporation Inc.’ under a different commercial name. Initially, the company’s vocation was limited to the agricultural sector. It sold filters to reduce leakage current in the animal environment with a view to improving dairy herd performances. Beginning in 1992, the company embarked upon R&D activities in order to validate its expertise. At this time, Jacques Dion, the current President, and a little later Fernand Bois became partners in the company. These activities and the addition of partners made it possible to obtain scientific and technical recognition and to develop an expertise and devices to neutralize leakage current and to monitor electrical networks. More than $10 million was invested during this period. The company also holds several international patents.
