The electrical network of a livestock farm must be controlled just like every other management parameter. Indeed, this network is likely to generate leakage current; the latter is electric current from sources outside the farm, which flows on the farm’s grounding network or leakage current from internal sources, which comes from equipment or network faults. The electrical network can also generate mid-range frequency currents. These are currents over 60Hz generated by specific equipment, which are also found on the farm’s grounding networks. These currents can have potentially serious impacts on herd performance.
